The nice bases are very detailed excecuted and retake the rose design of the shades. Done in mouled-pressed glass both shades are signed Degué. The height of the lamps is 37 cm (14-1/2 inches) and the shades are 11 cm wide. The pair is in very good condition. The bases have been renickeled and the lamps are rewired with new twisted rayon covered cord, new plugs and switches. The lamps on offer are equiped with european E14 sockets. If you prefer I can place B22 bayonet ones. For the US I will place US candelabra base sockets and 2-prong plugs. Check out over 250 other French art deco lamps in my shop. Visit my store: paravas com. French lamps and wiring. Art deco lamps made in France were equiped with B22 bayonet sockets. For most countries like Europe or the US such sockets are practicaly impossible to use. For instance in the States 110 volt bulbs with B22 fitters are obscure, very hard to find and only one model bulb in very limited wattages is available. In spite of what sellers of unrestored pieces of poor quality claim in their ads when they offer lamps with bayonet caps sockets : except for the UK and Australia French chandeliers and lamps need to be rewired for your country. In order to fit Edison large or small screw base bulbs as used in the USA, B22 sockets have to be replaced by American candelabra base or standard/medium size Edison screw-in sockets. E14 and E27 are modern replacements for European countries. An additional complication is that the size thread used in early French lighting to connect the sockets to the chandelier mountings or lamp bases is not compatible with the modern size threads used in the USA and Europe. New American or European sockets do not just screw on to the old lamp fixtures. In order to make it possible to use an original old French chandelier or lamp with modern screw bulb bases, a specialized restorer will have to re-tap the threads. All my cleaned and restored chandeliers, sconces and lamps come rewired with the correct sockets you will need to use modern bulbs in your country. The item “DEGUÉ pair of FRENCH 1930 ART DECO LAMPS. A beautiful pair of French art deco wall sconces around 1930-35. Polished solid brass mounts hold leaf shaped slip shades in molded-pressed glass. The shades have a frosted structured surface on the inside giving them a vivid appearance. The shades are signed Ezan france. Ezan was a large glass manufactory in the small town of Ezanville a little north of Paris. In the mid 30ies it became wellknown for its glassware in bluish opalescent semi-crystal like we can often see on for instance Charles Ranc or Henri Petitot chandeliers of the late thirties. I wasn’t able to find out which company made the fixtures of these sconces. But they exist in several versions: copper plated brass, copper plated spelter, polished brass and nickeled brass. The sconces are in excellent condition. I have cleaned and polished the brass mounts. And they come rewired. Right now they hold their old B22 bayonet sockets. For the US I will wire them with US candelabra base ones. For Europe I can place E14. The sconces are about 34 cm high (13-6/16″) and 20 cm wide (7-7/8″). Check out over 250 other French art deco lamps in my shop. Visit my store: paravas com. French lamps and wiring. Art deco lamps made in France were equiped with B22 bayonet sockets. The rare bases are signed M. Nothing is known about this producer of French art deco lighting other than that about ten different model bronze bases are known all marked with this signature. Most of these bases are in a style between art nouveau and art deco. They hold nice Muller shades in frosted molded-pressed glass. Both signed Muller freres Luneville. The height of the lamps is 35 cm (13-3/4 inches) and the shades are about 12 cm wide. The pair is in very good condition. The bases have been renickeled and the lamps are rewired with new twisted rayon covered cord, new plugs and switches. The lamps on offer are equiped with european E14 sockets.
